The Children's Fringe element of the festival was launched in 2006, bringing family-friendly activities to the centre of Wolds Words.

Both in 2006 and 2007, the events and activities organised as part of the Children's Fringe proved extremely successful with all activities being full to capacity.

This year, hugely popular novelist Jacqueline Wilson has endorsed the Children's Fringe, which is also bigger and better than ever.

A whole host of events are planned including performances, storytime sessions, a book quiz, puppet, craft and drama workshops and even a Paddington Bear Tea Party marking his 50th birthday.

For teenagers, full-day holiday workshops will include graphic novel production and animation activities.

We have made sure there is something for toddlers to teenagers as well as for those in between.
